A meal from the Tonkin era carries its own unique distinction compared to a standard Northern meal. Dishes began to be presented with more intention. Ingredients grew more diverse. Cooking methods became richer, refined through a lens of great sophistication.
Our childhoods were shaped by meals prepared by Hanoian women raised under the intersection of traditional Vietnamese values and a fresh French cultural influence.
